The NCM Motorsports Park’s resident Pro-Racer, Andy Pilgrim, headed north to Lexington, Ohio this past weekend to compete in the Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio with SKI Motorsports. The Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio, an event sanctioned by the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), featured 24 total races including the Trans Am, the Kastner Cup, International GT, Miata Heritage Cup, S2000 and Vintage/Classic Endurance. Andy competed in the International GT Series with SKI Motorsports in a 2011 Ferrari 458 GT3.
Up against 31 cars on the IGT grid for race 1, Andy dominated to finish P1 with a best lap time of 1:24.476 after the race was cut short due to a yellow flag incident. Andy pulled out the win by just two tenths of a second. On Sunday, Andy entered the 90-minute endurance race. Andy put on a master class in traffic management to secure his 3rd P1 of the weekend with a best lap time of 1:25.149.
