There is much excitement generating at the NCM Motorsports Park, as track season is in full swing with many events happening each month. From Trek at the Track on Tuesdays to numerous intensifying races, and performance driving schools, motorsports enthusiasts from all over the world are fired up to get to the track this summer.
The highlight of 2017 – and especially this summer – is the opening of the new karting track at the Motorsports Park. The “Kartplex” allows all people with a minimum height of 50’’ to arrive and drive for a fun racing session against their family and friends on the brand-new track.
As we encourage those wishing to kart to check our calendar for availability before visiting, we also offer private parties to take over the track for a lengthy amount of time. As the option is perfect for corporate hospitality and team building, birthday parties, bachelor parties and all other private events, we have three different options to suit you and all involved.
The Enduro Race consists of 18-48 people and teams of three to four drivers. The race includes a 20-minute practice and a 60-minute endurance race. The cost of the Enduro Race is $40 per person with a minimum of $1,000.
For a smaller sized group, the Karting Party will certainly suit you and your family or friends. With a group of 10-24 people, 12 will be racing at one time. The party includes an eight-minute practice, eight-minute qualifier and then an eight-minute race. The cost of the Karting Party is $50 per person.
To get the works, full kart track rental is available. With no limit on the number of participants, there is usually 60-70 people racing per hour on average. The cost to rent the full track is $1,200 per hour.
Along with karting, there are many exciting events scheduled for this year.
Taking place June 3-4 is the Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge, presented by the Ultimate Street Car Association (USCA) – a sanctioning body formed to create safe, fun and high profile national events for street legal performance vehicles. The Motorsports Park is proud to host one of the organization’s eight national events in 2017.
Also, this year at the track is the ChumpCar World Series, which allows anyone with some type of almost-race-ready car to participate. ChumpCar is North America’s home for real, affordable and competitive road racing, which is a throw-back to the era when racing was fun and cheap. The organization says that “it’s for Chumps like you that have always wanted to go road racing without all the hassles.” Additionally, spectators can enjoy the action from watching from multiple locations at the Motorsports Park, making for a fun weekend in June.
On top of all our events in 2017, we want to make sure that those wishing to drive their own cars on the track can do so, as we offer touring laps for just $45 per car, per session. Participants drive their own vehicle in a lead-follow format for over four laps on the 3.2-mile road course above highway speeds. These are available from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on weekdays when the track is not in use and reservations are highly recommended.
We also offer hot laps on weekdays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. when the track is not in use, giving guests the opportunity to be a passenger in one of the track’s Z06 Corvettes, driven by one of our track professionals for two laps on the Grand Full configuration at racing speeds. Age minimum for hot laps is 12 and we provide a helmet for all participants.
There is much more happening throughout the year, and we offer a full calendar on all upcoming events at motorsportspark.org/events to keep you in the loop with what’s going on at the track!
