Award recognizes creativity of Mobil1na Camaro

The NCM Motorsports Park and Mobil 1 have earned a Gold award from the Professional Marketing Association of Bowling Green, Kentucky in the category of Out of Home advertising. The category includes billboards, vehicle wraps, moving ads, political campaigns, mascots, guerrilla marketing, word of mouth and professional networking strategy. The award was presented as part of the association’s annual Markie Awards on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Holiday Inn University Plaza hotel.

The duo earned the accolade for their joint efforts in branding a new track car – a 2017 Turbo Camaro donated by Mobil 1. Two liveries were designed by I Love Theory Communication and Design, based in Charlotte, NC. A social media campaign was then launched, allowing fans to vote for their favorite livery to be applied to the Camaro.

The Camaro was named Mobil1na, and given her own persona complete with a Facebook page and Twitter profile. She has participated in the Louisville, KY Auto Show, Hot Rod Power Tour, CamaroFest, Car Craft Summer Nationals, drivers’ education programs, local school visits, leading touring laps on the track and more.

“This project was more than a simple vehicle wrap,” said Katie Ellison, Marketing and Communications Manager. “We wanted to engage our fans and allow them to have ownership in this new addition to the track. Mobil 1 is the official motor oil of the NCM Motorsports Park and we were thrilled when they came to us with the idea to donate a Camaro. They have been supportive of the various endeavors to use the car to promote both the track and Mobil 1, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for Mobil1na!”

You can check Mobil1na out at the NCM Motorsports Park, and she’ll be on the road to a number of events in 2018 including both the Louisville and Cincinnati Auto Shows, Hot Rod Power Tour and more. Follow her adventures on Facebook.
