Last week, the NCM Motorsports Park received word that they had passed the inspection by the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America), giving the green light for the track to host future SCCA competitions. While the SCCA does not have their own written standard, they use some of the standards set by the FIA (Federation Internationale de L’Automobile). The primary focus of the inspection is safety, ensuring the track is in compliance with safety standards including guardrail and tire wall placement, corner station worker safety, and assessing the track layout itself.
Mitch Wright, General Manager of the NCM Motorsports Park, said that the feedback received was positive. “We hosted Dan Hodge, Executive Steward, Great Lakes Division, SCCA and Jerry Cabe, Cincinnati Region SCCA Race Chairman for the inspection. They seemed really pleased, saying the track looks like a lot of fun,” Wright said. “They indicated that they are looking forward to their first event here.”
SCCA’s Cincinnati, Ohio region will get on the grid June 12, 13 and 14, 2015 for the Great Lakes Division Championship Series, Double Divisional Club Race. For more information, please visit: http://cincyscca.com/road-racing/ncm-msp.
